In the Quran, specifically in the Chapter of Al-Hajj, verse 73 Allah the Almighty gives a challenge to those who worship other than Allah.
O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued.
I’m using two different translations but they pretty much say the same thing. That no one but Allah is the creator, even scientists who believe that they have reached the level of deities with their abilities then the challenge is to create a fly. A small and perceivably helpless being. The truth, though, is that they will not be able to do so, in fact they are so powerless that they would not even be able to take back what a fly has taken from them (of food).
The first time I read that Ayah and properly contemplated it my brain just froze. The request is simple but it isn’t. We perceive that we, as humans, are a powerful race but something as simple as a fly is beyond our reach, we can clone it. But the clone isn’t the real thing. All you will create is a copy.
This is what humanity does, we “create” weak copies of Allah’s creation and call ourselves innovators and visionaries.
The truth is, if we thought of it, then it’s been done, and far better than we could have done it.
Alhamdullilah for his patience with us and the bounty he continues to give us though we deserve it not.
