The first Car I bought was a 1988 Buick LeSaber. I had lived in Toronto for a year and a half and I spent most of my days in public transport. One day as I walked back home from the bus station I passed a burgundy car and thought… maybe one day Inshallah Allah will grant me a car like this one.

A week later a friend of mine was over and asked if I was interested in purchasing a car. I said I wasn’t sure if I could afford one. He said that the person selling it was a friend of ours and that he was willing to let me pay for it in installments  over a period of 4 months. I discussed the price and whether the car itself ran well and my friend agreed it was a good deal.

Guess which car it turned out to be? It was the Burgundy car I had asked Allah for not a few days before. Not one similar but exactly the same one. Subhan Allah.

That car made my life so much easier that it would be insulting to try to put it in words. I loved that car regardless of the mandatory insurance I had to pay (insurance for it was 250% the amount I paid for it).

One day I was at an Islamic bookstore in an area called Rexdale in northern Toronto and I came across the sticker you see in the comic. Allah gives and forgives, Man gets and forgets.

Simple and true everything I am I owe to my creator all praise glory be to him, my I one day become worthy of any of the blessings he has bestowed upon me and my family.

Amen.
